The Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine
launched the Institute for Cell Engineering (ICE) in January 2001, fostering
research that not long ago would have been viewed as science fiction. The Institute's
scientists focus on selecting, modifying, and reprogramming human cells, and
molding them into therapeutic transplants for everything from Parkinson's, ALS,
and diabetes to heart failure, stroke, and spinal cord injury.
Unrestricted support will help sustain this ground-breaking
research, allow for the recruitment of the top scientists in the field, and
help us maintain state-of-the-art facilities for the Institute.
