Research
Over
the past several
years, the major research effort
in our laboratory
has been the isolation and
characterization
of human embryonic stem cells.
Current research
deals with the use of these
cells in deriving
differentiating cell types in culture and the transplantation
of these cells to various mouse models of degenerative
disorders and injuries. The human cells are also being
investigated as vehicles for gene therapies.
